How do I get paid, and how long does it take?
Once your device arrives in our York HQ, testing takes 24-48 hours (weekends excluded). Payments via bank transfer take 1-3 business days, while Store Credit is applied to your GameSwap wallet instantly.
Why should I choose Store Credit over Cash?
If you’re looking for a handheld console or controller upgrade from us, this is the best route to take. You get an additional 10% bonus on top of your cash value.
My device isn't on the search list. Can I still trade it in?
Absolutely – drop our support team an email and we’ll see what we can do. If it’s something we’ll take, we can easily add it to the valuation tool.
What devices can I trade in at GameSwap?
We specialise in handheld consoles and controllers. We’re especially interested in handheld consoles from brands like Retroid, Ayn, Ayaneo, Anbernic, TrimUI, and other popular handheld devices used for emulation. In terms of controllers, we’d love to see Scuf, Razer, GameSir, 8BitDo, and first-party controllers too. We are however open to taking a wide and expanding range of gaming gear, so check the tool for your device or get in touch if you’d like to see it there!

How do I send my device to York HQ?
It’s super easy, and we’ll walk you through it. Once you complete our simple trade-in process using the tool above, you’ll be passed to our dedicated portal to generate your return label and organise a free collection with Royal Mail, without the need to print off any labels. It’s really important to pack your device securely – bubble wrap is your friend.
Who pays for the shipping?
We offer both a free and paid shipping option. Our free tracked shipping is fast and insured for up to £150 of the item value. However, we also offer a special insured shipping option covering up to £750 of item value. We provide this at the lowest cost we can for you.

What happens if I select the wrong condition?
Don’t stress! If our tech team received your device and feels it’s in better or worse shape than selected, we won’t just change your payout. We will quickly email you a revised offer.
What if I don't like my revised offer?
You are in total control. You can accept or reject the new offer directly from your GameSwap dashboard by simply clicking a button. If you reject it, no hard feelings—we will mail your device back to you for free via Royal Mail Tracked.
